I am so excited to share with our new Great American Poets collection with my party peeps! It was actually a year ago at a Facebook party that people said they would really like to have this, and now it’s a reality.
So often the study of poetry can seem difficult for both parents and their kids. “We don’t know how to read it!” “It’s boring!” “What does it mean?”
Just as I wanted to make the enjoyment and appreciation of art and music simple for homeschool families, I am now doing the same with poetry.
Each resource introduces you to the poet and makes it easy for you to experience their poetry with no prep time needed. Heavy on videos, these collections will allow you and your children to let the language of poetry get into your hearts and minds effortlessly. I would love to learn about Bryant and Holmes, I don’t know much about them.
I would love to learn more about Walt Whitman. I know his name but know little else about him.

Oliver Wendell Holmes. I just finished reading a book about Helen Keller and learned that she was friends with him and enjoyed his work.
We do a little poetry in our homeschool. Would like to learn more about Longfellow.

I would like to incorporate poetry into our homeschool day. Since we do very little at this point I would really enjoy learning more about them all.
I would love to learn more about Holmes. I didn’t even knew he wrote poetry.
Henry David Thoreau. We live a few towns over from Walden Pond. I would love to do a lesson on this with my son and then take a field trip with him 🙂

We were just introduced to the wonder of poetry as we started doing Writing in Excellence. We would love to know more about Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
I would love to learn more about Holmes and Sandburg. Every year, we go to a church-related homeschool gathering that meets at a facility near Sandburg’s home. Why do I never visit? It is probably because I know so little about Sandburg! LOL!

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is a really good poet that I enjoy..
I would love to teach my littles about Robert Frost. I remember reading some of his work many moons ago and enjoyed it.
Eagerly awaiting Great Poets 2 (some of my favorites in there). I would like to learn about Walt Whitman.
I know very little about any of these poets, so I would happy to start anywhere! Our poetry education is obviously lacking!

Oliver Wendell Holmes–I’ve read some of his work, but am not as familiar with his biography as I should be.

Henry David Thoreau. I had a crush on his writing in High School. One of my teachers gifted me a book. I would love for my children to fall in love with poetry.
