Enrichment Studies - Fine Arts for homeschool families

Are you looking for a way to go deeper with art appreciation that’s sequential, relatable, and EASY?  Daily Art has got you covered!  This done-for-you, straight-to-your-inbox program combines the ease of Fine Art Pages with the power of video-based learning, all in a very simple format.

Presented in chronological order, your family will get to know famous artists (including women!) and their work thanks to carefully curated youtube videos that include:

  • biographical information
  • art analysis often taking place within famous museums around the world
  • historical perspective
  • coordinating art projects when available
  • and more!

These will come to you in weekday emails.  View it on your phone, tablet, or computer.  All you have to do is click over to youtube to watch and learn!

Additionally, during each artist study you’ll also have coordinating Fine Art Pages to display in your home. US residents can choose to purchase a printed and shipped-to-you bundle of Fine Art Pages, and those with non-US addresses will receive the PDF files so you can print at home or locally.

For those of you that want to take your artist study even farther, you’ll have access to our special Bonus materials that will make it easy for you to expand your studies for more learning, or even for your high schooler to earn art appreciation credit!

With this art era we get many important glimpses into what was happening in the world at the time.  We have the frivolity and lightness of pre-French revolution, the growing upper middle class in Europe, and the excitement of the American Revolution.

The main artists we will get to know are:
Watteau (3)
Canaletto (3)
Bellotto (3)
de la Tour (2)
Ramsay (3)
Reynolds (4)
Gainsborough (3)
West (3)
Greuze (3)
Robert (3)
Peale (3)
Le Brun (3)
Stuart (3)
Lawrence (3)

You’ll also get a two week bonus of shorter looks at 10 more Rococo era artists, with one Fine Art Page per artist.

There are NO coordinating art projects during this semester.

It’s a 15 week program that starts whenever you want it to.

There are 52 Fine Art Pages included. The number in parenthesis next to each name tells you how many works of art from each artist are included. Every enrollment also includes the PDF versions of the Fine Art Pages and the Bonuses.

You’ll also have an opportunity to purchase the coordinating Fine Art Pages as a printed set shipped to your home. Check your member area after you register for this specially priced option.

Here are links to a week of Daily Art to give you an idea of what it’s like. Of course, the videos vary depending on the artist and what was available, but generally this is the structure:

Day 1: Introduction to the artist, reminder about what Fine Art Pages to have up, and at least one video. Also, I normally give advance notice for upcoming art projects so parents can prepare for that. Click for Day 1.

Day 2-4: Art analysis. Email normally features a picture of the work of art we will be learning about in the video. Nudity will be mentioned ahead of time for parents to preview. I continue with advance notice for upcoming art projects.

Day 5: With some artists (but not all) we have a coordinating art project to do! Click for Day 5

Some artists have no nudity in the materials we use, others do. This week gives you a good example of how I handle this issue.

I have aimed to keep the program free of any sensual nudity. However, classical form nudity is sometimes included, and parents will get a warning with time stamp so they can preview. I’ve done a lot of previewing videos to find ones that have as little nudity as possible, while offering educational value.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age group is the Daily Art Appreciation useful for? I think kids that are perhaps 8 and older will get the most out of Daily Art, but we do have families with 2 and 3 years olds that are loving the program. There are some videos that are geared toward younger children, and then a lot that upper elementary, middle school, and high school will appreciate. That being said, each age can get their own level of good out of the program, and I think families with a mix of ages will find that you can adapt it pretty well for your children.  The bonus Artist Study Notebook also has great resources that can work for all ages!

How is nudity handled in this program?  I aim to keep the nudity to a minimum, while also staying true to the subject matter. Sensual nudity is avoided.  Classical form nudity is sometimes included.  Parents are given advance warning with time stamps for videos that include nudity so they can preview and determine appropriateness for your own family. Some time periods have more nudity than others (Renaissance, for instance) so please read individual descriptions for more information.

Where do the videos come from?  YouTube video content has been curated by Enrichment Studies owner Erica Johns, with an eye on quality and value of content as well as appropriateness and value for homeschool families.

How long are the videos each day? Most of the videos are around 4-5 minutes, with some occasionally being more like 8 minutes or longer.  I let you know in each email how long the videos are, so you can plan accordingly.

Are these Fine Art Pages the same as other collections I might have already purchased from you?

For Renaissance and Baroque & Dutch Golden Age:This is a newly improved and updated collection.  It has some of the same content as sets that have been available before.  However, I have swapped out many pieces of art to better represent the artist and coordinate with the Daily Art program.  I have also increased the image size on the pages for better viewing, and made a few other improvements.

For Rococo, Neoclassical, and Impressionism this is all new art that has not been sold in any other sets.

“Loving these so far!  It’s such a simple and rich way to introduce my daughter to art appreciation and analysis. I have been doing Charlotte Mason style picture study since the beginning, but I love how this expands on that to show the vocabulary of art and new ways of looking at it. And having a variety of people teaching is a treat!

Thank you!
Erika”

“We are just loving Daily Art and I am telling everyone about it! Can’t wait to add in Sound Bites in the fall now that I know how great this stuff is! My kids are so excited about art….something that my own made up art studies never did before!”

~Amber

“We are loving it. It’s been a great way to start back to school, and the kids have fallen in love with note booking. It may be our new thing, as they are inspired to write more for their notebook pages, but I couldn’t get them on board with written narrations. So glad I got this for us!”

~Jessica

“Wow!  This looks so AWESOME!  I looked through the sample and cannot tell you how excited I am to go through this program.  The information was fascinating and the art project at the end was the cherry on top.  We continue to love all of your products.  I do believe I am the most excited about this one though.  Thank you so much for coming up with beautiful products that truly enrich my family.”
