Louise Catherine Breslau was a Swiss-born artist associated with the French Impressionist movement. Born in Munich, Germany, she later became a naturalized Swiss citizen. Breslau gained recognition for her portraits and genre paintings, depicting intimate scenes of women in domestic settings. Her works showcased a skillful use of color and light, capturing the emotions and nuances of her subjects in a realistic yet sensitive manner.
